What makes the design work

Starface brand study

Visual observations across the brand’s packaging. Individual formats and editions may vary.

Star-eyed smiley

Small black smile with two five-point star eyes, centred above the wordmark at about 6% of carton height.

Bubble wordmark

Ultra-heavy rounded capitals about 80% of carton width in Liquorice Black (#1d1a1a), or Holo Rainbow gradient on blue.

Header strip

Band about 12% of carton height in a contrasting colour such as Grape Soda (#8a3fc4), with a punched round hang hole.

Reading the label

Full-colour carton front with a darker or contrasting header strip at the top; content stacked centred down a single column, ending in a thin-ruled information grid.

Typography & hierarchy

The smiley sits small at the top centre, then the oversized rounded wordmark spans the carton width. A two-line lowercase product name follows, and the lower third holds a thin-ruled box of claims and count in small monospaced type, with bold verbs picked out. Balm cartons drop the big wordmark for a small lowercase name at the top and a giant cropped 'STAR' on the stick.

How the range holds together

Flat colour coding by product type, with the layout, smiley and wordmark fixed; balms are coded by stick and band colour, and licensed collaborations replace the smiley with the partner character on a red compact.

Shelf presence

Hung on pegs, the cartons form a wall of hot pink, light pink, blue and yellow with the same smiley and wordmark at the same height, and the header strips create a second stripe of contrast colour along the top.
