Yerba Madre

golden cans woven with andean textile geometry

Yerba Madre's tall-boy cans are golden yellow (#e8bf12) with the same centred stack on every flavour: a heart-shaped wreath of green mate leaves around a small map, 'Est.' and '1996' either side, a stacked maroon flared-serif wordmark, a green 'Organic Yerba Mate' line and a flavour pill bar. Flavour lives in three places, the coloured pill, the rim band at the top of the can and a stepped textile-like geometric pattern rising from the base and fringing the shoulder. Lower-sugar versions whiten the lower body and print the sugar count in a central panel, sparkling cans swap the pattern for a field of bubbles on a slimmer can, and the tea bag pack keeps the golden body under a dark maroon top band with curling vine drawings.

Typography

Suggested visual alternatives, not confirmed brand typefaces. Any scale below is an illustrative estimate.

The two-line wordmark is the dominant element in the middle of the can, under the leaf wreath. Under it come the green category line, the flavour name reversed in a pill, a 'naturally caffeinated' claim, and at the base the organic seal and 'non-carbonated' note or sugar panel. Volume runs vertically at the right edge.

Range System

The golden body, wreath and wordmark never move; each flavour owns one colour used for the pill bar, rim band and base pattern, the sugar tier is signalled by whitening the lower body, and sparkling swaps pattern for bubbles.

  • Mango chilli = red pill + red pattern
  • Orange = orange pill + orange pattern
  • Mint = green pill + green pattern (bubbles on sparkling)
  • Passionfruit coconut = plum pill + white lower body
  • Low sugar = white lower body + sugar-gram panel
  • Tea bags = golden pack + maroon top band + vine drawings

Back of Pack & Shelf

The golden field and pattern continue round the can: a short paragraph about the mate and its growers in green sans, then the Nutrition Facts panel on a white box, ingredients, certification seals, deposit marks and the barcode.

  • Short paragraph about the mate and where it is grown
  • Nutrition Facts panel on a white rectangle
  • Ingredients list
  • Organic and fair-trade certification seals
  • State deposit marks, recycling and barcode

On shelf

In the cooler every can is the same golden yellow with the same maroon wordmark, so the brand forms one solid yellow block, and flavours are picked out by the coloured rim and pattern at top and bottom.

Imagery

A dense leaf wreath shaped as a heart around a small map, geometric stepped and zigzag patterns that recall woven textiles, circular bubble fields on sparkling, and curling vine and flower line drawings on the tea bag pack.

Guidelines

Do

  • Use one golden yellow (#e8bf12) as the body colour across every can and bag.
  • Centre a leaf-wreath emblem about 12% of can height above a stacked flared-serif Display wordmark in maroon (#8a1f12).
  • Give each flavour one colour and repeat it in the pill bar, rim band and base pattern.
  • Grow a geometric textile-style pattern about 35% up from the base and fringe it at the shoulder.
  • Signal lower sugar by turning the lower body pale (#f1ece0) with a central gram panel.
  • Swap the pattern for a bubble field to mark the sparkling line.
  • Reverse the flavour name in white bold Label sans inside a rounded pill.

Don't

  • Don't change the body colour per flavour; colour coding stays in the pill, rim and pattern.
  • Don't use fruit photography on the can.
  • Don't set the wordmark in a plain sans.
  • Don't use a matte or metallic-silver finish; the can is glossy and printed edge to edge.
  • Don't let the pattern cover the central type stack.
  • Don't use more than one flavour colour per can.
